How far have women's rights really come in Japan.
It seems to me that women's rights have a long way to go in Japan. But there has been some progress.
I have heard Japanese women say things that was previously unacceptable.
"Bakayarou"
"Kuso"
"Chikusho"
"Temera"
The only times I really remember Japanese females saying "boku" or "ore" is when imitating a guy.
But anyway I just want the female side of Japan to have a nicer time.

So using profanity is a measure of women's progress?
J-chick works at a US company (investment bank) and says she would DIE before working at a Japanese company and thinks that the OLs who do are wimpy tea-making marriage fodder for the chauvinist men.
Well, she makes a heck of a lot more money than me.

If you want to REALLY piss off the Japanese, pronounce it "pak yalo" like a Korean. [:D]
