@kikuu--- it usually takes a long time for the last process mainly becuase they are still finalizing the budget for next fiscal year. They can not decide on the number of those to be selected without the finalized budget. +Plus the fact that they have to pool the scores of all those who were recommended and compare their scores with each other. Thats why it usually takes for them a long time to inform those who pass the exam. I experience the agony of waiting when I was still applying. I know what you feel. But anyways, good luck to everyone and hope to see you all here. :D

Ah that makes sense now. Comparing a few hundred or thousand exam scores together shouldn't be an overhelming Excel exercise, but I never thought that it might have had to do with the budget. I guess they also try to check for um... spies among the applicants? :p

Of course they think in the budget. The number of scholarships granted is determined from the initial budget. So there's always a maximum of scholarships.

Every time I got an email from the embassy attendant (a woman in charge of scholarship applications) my heartbeat stops. But they're announces and invitations to events, exhibitions and conferences.
The wait is killing me (in one month will get worse >.<)

I hope the results come earlier this year than last. I hear it took till February!

Usually it's been around middle of December though, has it not?

In the former years, don't they give the results early in January? Or is it usually already available by December but they postpone announcement of results to January?

Hi!
I was surprised seeing this forum. All my application process has already finished though. I am now just sitting waiting for the final result. My friend, who passed last year recruitment, said that he got the result in early January. The guy from my country's embassy said she had announced the result on the day she had got, but I don't know for sure.

The biggest worried for me is that I have applied for engineering, natural science A, while only a guy got the scholarship within these last 10 years, the rest sit, at least 2 per year, were going to social science applicants.

No one who got the scholarship from my country has experienced studying Japanese, so does this subject really infects the recruitment? No one in my country sit for Japanese undergraduate language test this year.... And we were notified that it is not compulsary.
No one in my country knew his/her score either.

Anyone got the sure information about this please share.
Looking forward to read all your quotes.

Hi!

I've been watching this thread for some time and only recently registered an account.

Like some others here I'm waiting for the final result, nearing a heart attack every day.
Some weird stuff I noticed is that Japanese is compulsory for some countries and not for others (Brazil, for example).

In my consulate, 2 people (including me) were selected to interview (out of approx. 15 who did the test) and were recommended to Japan (The result came about 10min after we were interviewed, the interviewers simply came to the waiting room and said: you're passed)

I have no ideia of how many got the recommendation from other consulates here in Brazil, since they don't communicate with each other, but I would say there are about 10 candidates waiting for final result.

Other funny thing is that the consulate where I did the exams is not allowed to say my exam scores, while in other consulates from the same country allow it! Strange.

Anyway, good luck for you guys!
